A Face Thrice Dreamt

“A Face Thrice Dreamt”
Pen and Ink on Watercolor Paper
11″ x 14″

Dreams have a power influence over my creativity, mainly, I believe, in ways I’m not completely aware of in the moment I put pen to paper. This drawing is an abstraction and an almost fractal representation of a dream, or a subject from a dream, manifesting itself into a visual reality. In this case a face, somehow simultaneously dreamt by three different people or three different times by the same person, depending on how the piece is read. The three figures can be found huddling in different areas of the piece the the colors and content swirling around the piece represent the energy of the manifestation. All content and colors swirl about the piece to form a loose representation of a face in the center.
