Heretic

“Heretic”
Pen and Ink on Paper
11″ x 8.5″

Ideas: A smaller drawing of a Jesus of Nazareth crucifixion motif. This one is a celebration of himself as a heretic which, if he did exist, was exactly what he was and what he was executed for. Speaking against the church, whichever faith, has for much of history been an offence punishable by death. One of the ways the institution keeps the masses in line. To publicly call out the falsely pious, and take a platform against the divine status-quo as he is purported to have done, takes a bravery bordering on madness. A necessary stance taken by free thinking people throughout history. Bravery always looks like stupidity to a coward.
