Purgatorial Tapestry

“Purgatorial Tapestry”
Pen and Ink on Watercolor Paper
11″ x 14″

Ideas: This drawing falls into the “Quantum Abstraction” realm of my work. With this piece I really wanted to experiment with colors and dynamic angles in the composition to see what subject matter would manifest. The more I developed the image the more the colors and line seemed to weave together, almost as if the ink was being sewn. I also felt the piece was tearing itself apart as quickly as it was constructed. The constant intensity between both “worlds” brought me to the idea of a purgatorial dimension. A tapestry sewn together with ink that captures the limbo of lost souls.
